Hello Quad Citians!
Let Your Creative Spirit Shine!

For Immediate Release: October 2, 2014

THE BIG DRAW INVITATION

(We are inviting all members of the QC Communities to participate in THE BIG DRAW!)

The Big Draw

The Eco Arts Council and QC United to participate in the Big Draw! In support of the council's goal of "Creative Collaborative Networking" and in the spirit of QC United's Unity Campaign, the two organizations are partnering to offer a creative art making opportunity for Quad Citians of all ages and in cooperation with the International Big Draw Movement. The Big Draw experience will take place at Pete the Purple Bull's Awesome CommUNITY party being held October 12, 2014.

The 2014 Big Draw will run from 1 October to 2 November across the UK and in twenty other countries, with 280,000 people expected to join in over 1000+ events. The Big Draw offers thousands of enjoyable, and mainly free, drawing activities which connect people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists, designers, illustrators - and each other. These events are for those who love to draw, as well as for those who think they can't!

2014 will see The Big Draw working in partnership with the Family Arts Campaign for a second year to create the UK's largest Family Arts Festival spanning autumn half term from 17 October - 2 November. Drawing can enrich music, dance and theatre performances by encouraging family members to record, expand and communicate these experiences in a different way. Glorie Iaccarino, Director of the Eco Arts Council, is the first to initiate this family friendly campaign on a local level in association with and finding synergy of collaborative endeavors.

This year's Big Draw theme, It's Our World, is a celebration of our environment - of urban, rural and coastal landscapes. The Eco Arts Council and QC United invite participants to make one or more pieces and or consider specific emphasis on celebration of their personal community and or impression of what a "peaceful" community would look like. Environmental themes can be included, incorporation of environmental cares, causes and concerns are welcome and interpretation of a community without bullying, prejudice and a portrayal of equal rights is acceptable, too. Any artwork that answers the question, "What does a CommUNITY mean to you?", "What does a Peaceful Community look like to you" and or "It's Our World - what I wish for us all". For more information on guidelines and or ideas, contact Ms. Iaccarino at Ecoartscouncilqc@aol.com. Pick up for multiple artworks can be scheduled with Ms. Iaccarino and individuals, school classrooms and or scouts, youth groups and others are encouraged to represent their association and be included.

Pete the Purple Bull Awesome Community Party gives people a chance to...

Use Arts in Activism, create messages of Peace, Friendship and Unity and was created for awareness of Bullying Prevention Month and celebrating the benefits of CommUNITY. Children, families and community members will have an opportunity to submit and have exhibited artworks with eligibility for contest and prizes if submitted by October 10 to the Eco Arts Council at PO Box 634, East Moline, Illinois 61244. With hand on drawing opportunities the day of the event, art submissions will be part of the Big Draw, part of an online gallery and will be donated to the Papergirl Quad Cities exhibit and distribution ride in July 2015.  Pete the Purple Bull, the QC United's mascot for their Unity Campaign will be present to take pictures with the kiddos, spread messages of peace and encourage the children in creative drawing. International recognized artist and activist, Glorie Iaccarino, will be organizing the exhibit, art prizes,
